These dragon scale or magatama beads, are woven into this necklace using one side so the finish is smooth and feels like it really might be dragon scales. The matte raspberry brown metallic finish has hints of various tones so it gives it earthy and natural tone. The dragon scale beads are some of the largest glass beads made by manufacturers in Japan. But these metallic finishes are also more expensive. This statement necklace lei is finished with a brass toned magnet end cap that has an extra strong hold. This is ONLY for the necklace not the bracelet seen in the photos.
We used matte brown seed bead along with the raspberry Magatama to make this 7" bracelet to match or wear alone - this is sold separately ($45). This bracelet fits a size 6.5" - 6.75" wrist. If you prefer a combination and want a different size bracelet please send an email with order.
Our necklaces feel wonderful to wear and require little to almost no care by using a clean dry towel every few months to keep dust free and bright. This beautiful hand-crafted style necklace was made using hundreds of glass beads from around the world that are meticulously loaded onto multiple cords that are woven then together on a Japanese marudai braiding stand.

Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese braid making technique that creates beautiful and durable interlaced necklaces and bracelets. This art form goes back hundreds of years as braids were made for use in armor of Samurai warriors. In modern times these braids are used for belts (obijime) on kimonos
