Kumihimo Spiral with Wheat Colored Imitation Silk (Off Balance): 21" to 24"
This elegantly stylish Art Jewelry necklace was woven using three monochromatic bundles of rich wheat color and three of deep gold color imitation silk fibers. Once each necklace was finished we wove them into one thicker but amazingly lightweight necklace.
Altogether there are hundreds of strands of imitation silk that comprise this piece, leaving it luxurious yet flexible. The braid's spiral effect allows it to be worn tighter and shorter or stretched out as a longer necklace for a lower plunge on the neckline.
An extra strong gold toned magnet end allows you to wear with no worry of it falling off. Even though It measures 21” yet it can be stretched temporarily up to 24" for a longer look. By coiling the spirals you may make it a tighter braid, or tug lightly to stretch out a bit.

This art form goes back hundreds of years as braids were made for use in armor of Japanese samurai warriors. In modern times these braids are designed as obijime (belts) that are worn with a kimono.
