This design is truly a unique braiding challenge as it requires in the moment movements to ensure symmetry. It is also one of our newest Forever Lei designs. We braided glass beads into three-clusters of Matte Black Rose Petal beads and stunning Green Flat Lamp-Work bead by award winning lampwork artist Aja Vaz. We developed this floral looking design (similar to the Po'o Lei made throughout Hawaiian Islands) as a tribute to all the beautiful natural floral lei
There are 3 clusters in this mini bead combination of the 5" focal section. Like many other Akalei designs this will be your forever art jewelry so expect to receive many compliments. These necklace lei drape gently to complement the contours of the neck and chest. This new design pops and you (and the necklace lei) will be the conversation at any event you attend.
Akalei is Hawaiian for "bead reflections" which represents our unique necklace lei design style made exclusively on Maui. We reimagine traditional Hawaiian Lei using a wide assortment of glass and natural beads, Japanese silk and synthetic fibers. In addition we blend a variety of braiding techniques and kumihimo inspirations from across the globe.
