This is for a PDF Kumihimo pattern only and not for a physical necklace lei. The pattern is intended for confident beginners (and ALL LEVELS) who are comfortable with Kongo Gumi braid structure using various shaped beads on a foam disk or on a Marudai (this is almost easier on the disk).This pattern was inspired by the original design from Ni'iHau Island which is stunning (SEE LAST PICTURE FOR THE REAL DEAL - TRULY AMAZING). As a perfect substitute this will still be gorgeous and catch the attention of those around you. This Pattern
will result in a 28’ to 36” long necklace of 8-12 cords – using various sizes & shapes of Glass Beads (the length is adjusted by adding the number of beads in the pattern in the ends or center). NOTE: Users should be comfortable with assembling between 1 to 3 separate sections (meaning you can add all the beads at once or in a sequence of sections ). You will need to be comfortable adjusting counterweights as you braid and manipulating cords as you braid them. I offer an option to work with you for a 30 minute Zoom session ($50) to help you in the assembly or instruction on this design. This is actually a lot of fun to create.
