Purple & Black Necklace and Bracelet: Continuous beaded braid -22.5” (combo)
This unique necklace/bracelet combination can be worn in three ways 1st as a full length necklace at 22.5”, 2nd as a double wrap bracelet 15.5” or 3rd as a single stand bracelet at 7”. These offerings allow the wearer to mix and match with each wardrobe. Two spiral design silver toned magnets provide an extra strong hold allowing them to be combined into one long jewelry piece.
The process of creating a Continuous Beaded Braid entails much more than could be imagined. The process begins with loading hundreds of beads onto cords, these are then wound onto bobbins, braided, massaged very carefully, removed from the Marudai braiding stand and finished with end caps. One wrong move and the entire braid crumbles - much like a soufflé. These stunning and comfortable necklaces are made using glass beads or other materials such as pearls, semi-precious gems, and gem stones, to create necklaces or bracelets.
Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese braid making technique that results in beautiful and strong interlaced cords. This art form goes back hundreds of years as braids were made for use in armor of Japanese samurai warriors. In modern times these braids are designed as belts (obijime) that are worn as a belt with a kimono.
